Curl Up & READ

I LOVE TO READ!!

One day I will have a library like the one on Beauty and the Beast, but in the mean time I purchased a Nook Color to get the latest reads at the touch of a button. Latest installments to the electronic library:

I finished The Host by Stephanie Meyer about 2 weeks ago.
This book is a must read. The novel introduces an alien race, called Souls, which takes over the Earth and its inhabitants. The book describes one Soul's predicament when the mind of its human host refuses to cooperate with her takeover.

Ok it sounds iffy, but i promise it's a great book. Never really thought i would be into an alien novel, but i guess I read about vampires so...
I was actually sad when I finished reading it because I wanted there to be more!

The other day I dove into the book Bossypants by Tina Fey. Laugh out loud funny and great writing style. I've been a fan of Tina for a while so i may be biased, but to compare I also love Ellen Degeneres and could barely get through the first chapter. Her writing is exactly how she talks...all over the place. So it was nice to read Bossypants and imagine Tina's voice as the narrator.

There are a lot of references that she uses that are WAY before my time, but she doesn't leave you in the dust and you're able to pick back up when the old stuff is over.
Fun fact: Tina Fey doesn't have a driver's license.
Go get this book! (or if you want me to share it with you on your nook, holla)

I'm currently reading The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. I downloaded the sample and was hooked! It opens up with a girl living on Park Avenue while seeing her homeless mother rummaging through the dumpster. How crazy is that?! This one is based on a true story and when she takes you back to her childhood it only gets more insane.  I'm about half way done and really don't know what the ending could be or how she comes out successful. But we will see!!!

Anyone have any recommendations for my next read? I'll need something in about 3 days. K thanks!

Cat Lady in the Making

Wow, it's been a while since I've been on here. I like my little blog, why have I neglected it?

Well for an update since the last time I was on, it was around my Birthday. Well now we're coming up on my Birthday again.
A lot has happened in just less than a year. I got the entire hardback collection of Harry Potter *probably wont ever re read them* spent New Year in New York *check that one off the bucket list, sucka!* heart break *love is patient* traveled to the Bahamas with my best friend *got an awesome tan/met John Stamos* and now we're pretty much up to date! See...a lot :)

I most certainly have some things to look forward to this year:
-On my 26th birthday I will be getting my braces off (YAY!) so far it's been 19 months and I'm such an awesome patient they are coming off early!
-I have 3 bachelorette parties in my future (who doesn't love getting their friends sloppy drunk while they wear a tiara and condoms all over them?)
-Oh yeah, that means 3 weddings too (Emily, Megan, and Nikki!)
-2 more trips to Singapore are coming up, i THINK one at the end of August and the other is right after Turkey Day (Bring it on 24 hour plane rides!)
-and of course more weekend trips to keep me occupied (this weekend: Girl Talk concert with Marilyn!) I'll find any excuse now to just go, so if you want me to come visit, wash your sheets and stock up on the alcohol because I'm headed to your city! -i kid, I'm not an alky, but i do like clean sheets!

I'd like to blog more, so I'll be back with more interesting stuff, like Pinterest projects. Everyone loves those!
Oh, Books, I bought a NOOK color so I'll FOR SURE share some of my reads. Currently I'm reading The Host!

Bucket List

I'm finally a quarter of a century old and I must say getting older isn't always fun!
Out for my Bday (late celebration)

But in light of gaining another year, i've decided that there are some pretty important things i need to accomplish either before I die or before kids come along and ruin everything :)

So far this is what I've come up with:

1.Carnival- Rio de Janeiro

2. New Years- New York
3. Mardi Gras- New Orleans
4. Run a half marathon
5. Ride in the MS 150
6. Go on an Alaskan cruise
7. Be in New York for Fashion Week
8. Be in Milan for Fashion Week
9. Go Sky diving
10. Visit the Great Wall of China
11. Celebrate Chinese New Years in China/Singapore
12. Travel to Santorini- Greece

13. Visit Rome
14. Go on a Mission Trip with my church
15. Visit Paris with the love of my life (who ever that may be)

This isn't the end of my list, but just the start of it.

I'm also addicted to Pinterest, sooo I will be blogging on my crafty attempts!
